As it seems there's no data from the Muse forum restored I thought I might repost the MP3s I had up before in case anyone's interested and to repopulate the forum a bit.
The piece that got me started here at Hopescope is Vincent by Don McLean. TCat beat me to making a simple arrangment of it.
One piece that I've played for warming up for years is Mood for a day by Steve Howe. I recorded it on a classical with gut trebles.
Another piece I recorded on the same guitar is an old original from 1991 I wrote as an intro to one of my bands pieces. It didn't make it on the album though: 1000s intro
A year earlier I wrote a simple piece for the guitar lessons I was giving. I recorded this on electric but it works on classical and steel string as well: The empty room
In one of my darker moods I did a free improvisation on the electric. The recording is about 15 years old. Not exactly easy listening but I like some of the things that happened in there and I may rework some of it to a composition one day: Point of view
About 5 years ago people from the Jim Steinman forum made a tribute CD where I contributed a song originally performed by Meat Loaf. It also appears on a tribute CD that members of TTT made after one of the forumites unexpectedly passed away: Everything is permitted
A more recent recording is Hey you where I was just picking up the songbook and started playing without any arrangement or practice. Haven't done this in years but it was a lot of fun to just play.
In spring last year my duo opened for american guitarist Vicki Genfan. Of course we couldn't match her amazing skills but it was one of our most enjoyable gigs and an all around pleasant evening. Here's a recording from that concert: In the highest tree
The discussion about singing in foreign languages beat me to record a song by german songwriter Konstantin Wecker. The song is Ich singe weil ich ein Lied hab. And here's the english version of it.
There's a band I'm not a regular member of but I join them everytime they record an album. Here's an untypical song from their third album, recorded in 1994. Just the singer and me on classical guitar: War and spanish sun
Usually their music is a mixture of alternative rock, grunge and wave. Those who are not afraid of loud music can check some samples of the last album at CD-Baby. Some samples of older albums can be found at their homepage.
That's all so far. I'm working on two pieces which progress will be documented in the 'Birth of a song' forum. I will repost the first stages of their development when I got around to continue working on it a bit.
