Hi, guys!
Well, I was home a bit wrung out today, so I worked a little more on "Vincent". I first started on this last November, when I had found the chords on the web and Marcel put together his beautiful arrangement and sent me the tab. I was just strumming the chords and trying to arpeggiate them a little, but with Marcel's encouragement, I've been working on an arrangement that carries the melody and supporting structure too. It's based on Marcel's arrangement, since I know nothing about arranging or composing, really. But it is a bit different in feel, being constructed on right-hand triplets and double stops, and as such, it does seem to want to be played on nylon (classical guitar). It is developing its own personality or feel, but I don't know what you'd call it yet. The third to the last chord at the end is an open F-based voicing that I wanted to use, because it just opens up like an orchid, and then wants to be resolved. You'll know it when you hear it.
I still struggle with guitar, and especially recording. Playing for others is not an option yet. Anyway, I did have my usual challenges with this arrangement and I had to make a few splices to pull a few flat spots together, but this first attempt will at least give you an idea of what I'm hearing in my head, and what I'm after. I know that it - and I - have a loooooooooong, long way to go.
This was recorded on the pretty little blonde girl that appears in the recent photo I posted of myself. She's a Yamaha flamenco. Standard tuning... capoed at the third fret.
I hope you like this first effort at "Vincent". And thank you, Marcel, for all your help thus far. Man... this makes me tired!
