Hi, guys!

I just wanted to share with you what I've done so far on Krissy's and my "Oftenly".

Now, I'm new at Powertab AND writing music. But I'm trying to get some of my ideas "on paper". This is a rudimentary draft of the intro and verse - no chorus yet - and if you are able to play through it, you will hopefully hear the melody come out of the chord voicings and double-stops. It's intended to be played slowly, with feeling... one guitar right now.

I can't play it fluidly, but I can pick through and find what's in my head. I'm working on the motor skills. I just don't want you all to think... "Oh... TC talks, but he never does!" >: :o

Okay. I know this has technical issues. But I have to start somewhere and this is one of my starts! :grin So, have a peek at the score for "Oftenly".

And here are the lyrics:

"Oftenly"

Oftenly...
a timid candle light
can withhold
unwelcome blue of night

Oftenly...
a stranger's warming smile
holds the clouds
safely at bey a awhile

(chorus)
little things
are not as fragile as you might surmise...
a simple word of hope
appears a summerscape to hopeless eyes

Oftenly...
Plum nights and cherry days
are but one
upholding hand away

Oftenly...
a whirling world astray
can be calmed
by what a friend will say

(chorus)
little things
untroubled eyes or just a word that's kind
a satin lullaby
a tender sandman for a wearied mind

Oftenly...
a timid candlelight
is enough
to last 'til morning, bright

Oftenly...
to mark you through the night

Oftenly...
to know you'll be alright

And so, you see...
hope happens oftenly...

Oftenly...
