... you've proved how pathetic, immature and sad you really are.

All may notice that, when I called Helen out on her behavior, I referred to just that: her behavior.  I said that her behavior was unacceptable... not that Helen, the person, was unacceptable.  Similarly, Helen the person is not pathetic either.  Her behavior may devolve to immaturity, but she is also capable of just the opposite.  I'm not defending Helen's behavior in this instance, but merely pointing out that there are ways to differ with people, or even to confront them on their actions, without devaluing them in public.  The above quote is devaluing.  It might have been better to describe a specific behavior as unacceptable or immature than to devalue a person whom, in spite of her human faults, I still hold dear.

To all:

When you differ with each other and take exception to one another's behavior, contest the behavior in your arguments... not the human being.  If you cannot manage that as the adults that you are, I will lock this thread.

Good night.

with wisdom I thought life had primed me to imbue.
But in truth the privilege was theirs to confer,
young eyes, as pools, reflections of a me I never knew. ~
